John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
In
John 14:6 if Jesus saith, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me... was he wrong? Is this statement of Jesus Christ
a misnomer... difficult to understand!
We
all know and understand that before the advent of
Jesus Christ there was nothing like Christianity
that existed on Mother Earth. Around 3600 years
before came Lord Krishna, considered an Avatar (manifest
God) in Hinduism. About 1500 years later followed
Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism.
About
77 years later followed him Gautama Buddha. And
finally about 423 years later came Jesus Christ.
And with the advent of Jesus Christ... a new religion
Christianity was born. What in fact is Christianity?
Truthfully Christianity is following the teachings
of Jesus Christ. The following of Mahavira is never
termed as Christianity or the teachings of Gautama
Buddha!
Having
cleared the concept that Christianity was born with
the advent of Jesus Christ... it rather becomes
clear that none before Jesus Christ in Christianity
had ever gained enlightenment. And thus spake Jesus
Christ in John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me follows.
Jesus
Christ knew that none before his coming had gained enlightenment. Here we are
not talking of other religions. We are concentrating ourselves on the following
of Jesus Christ and Christianity. In
John 14:6 If Jesus Christ has said I am the way, yes, for the followers of Jesus
Christ, Jesus Christ himself is the only way for none had gained enlightenment
before Jesus Christ. Further
In John 14:6 If Jesus Christ says I am the way, the truth... he simply means that
without having faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ... reaching the kingdom
of God was not possible. Those
who believe in Jesus Christ know the path to the kingdom of God for Jesus Christ
had already treaded this path to the kingdom of God. Jesus
Christ also implicitly clarifies that truthfulness in the affairs of life plays
a very significant role in gaining enlightenment and finally salvation. For the
practitioners of untruthfulness, no amount of desires or wishes can ever gain
entry into the kingdom of God. To
believe in Jesus Christ is belief in God Almighty himself. Belief in Jesus Christ
is belief in the path taken by Jesus Christ. Believing in Jesus Christ is trying
reaching the kingdom of God. Jesus
Christ is the torch bearer... we need to follow him faithfully. Jesus Christ knows
the path... following him would make us reach the kingdom of God. Believing
in Jesus Christ truthfully would make one reach the kingdom of God finally. In
John 14:6 if Jesus Christ says, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me follows... he was only making it explicitly
clear that has none had traveled to the kingdom of God before Jesus Christ...
the path taken by Jesus Christ was the only way to the kingdom of God. Jesus
Christ also makes it clear here that the journey of life ends with reaching the
kingdom of God. According to Jesus Christ life was to be lived as lived by Jesus
Christ himself. It was the only truth of life. It was the only essence of life.
Reaching the kingdom of God is the sum and substance of life. Jesus
Christ clears all doubts about reaching the kingdom of God. By stating, no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me follows, Jesus Christ has clarified that to
reach the Father, the abode of God Almighty... one need to take the path followed
by Jesus Christ. In
Christianity as none had preceded Jesus Christ to the kingdom of God... the journey
and the path taken by Jesus Christ was the only means to the kingdom of God. Those
desirous of reaching the kingdom of God need to follow Jesus Christ in Toto. The
sum and substance of the sayings of Jesus Christ in John 14:6 are follow the path
and the teachings of Jesus Christ for the path and the journey to the kingdom
of God is known to Jesus Christ only. All
who reach the stage of enlightenment and finally salvation become competent to
enter the kingdom of God! Those desirous of gaining entry into the abode of God
need to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and thee shall enter the kingdom
of God having gained enlightenment and finally salvation.
Note: The Bible interpretation commentary
by Vijay Kumar... the Man who Realized God in 1993 would become clear only when
read with an unbiased and open mind. In the kingdom of God all are equal... God
Almighty does not differentiate between Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ
and Prophet Mohammed.
Having
gained enlightenment and finally salvation... these man gods reached the kingdom
of God in their lifetime. All paths... all religions and spirituality lead one
towards the one and only final goal... the abode of God aka Vaikuntha in Hinduism.
